Phil Eddy announces candidacy

After much prayer, and paying attention for the answer, I am excited to announce my candidacy for Conway County Clerk.

I am a life-long resident of Conway County. My wife, Tina, and I have been married for over 30 years. Together we have raised four amazing young ladies and one awesome young man. They have given us eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Tina and I have enjoyed being residents of the St. Elizabeth community, west of Oppelo, for the past fourteen years.

After graduation from Morrilton high school, I attended college at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway for two years. My work career began at our family business, Arkansas Valley Wholesale, a small wholesaler servicing “mom and pop” grocery stores throughout central Arkansas. During this time, I also served with the Morrilton Fire Department, where I retired as Captain after twenty-five years of service. After the closing of our family business in 2008, I felt led to further my education, and I did so at Central Baptist College in Conway. I graduated from CBC in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in leadership and ministry. While achieving my degree at night, I was employed by a large convenience store distributor in Conway, where I started and maintained a cross-dock grocery program and eventually became Director of their Foodservice Division. In 2010, I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Dallas, where I received a certification in Biblical Counseling.

In October of 2020, the opportunity arose for me to return to Conway County, where I am currently employed by Roberson Tire Service in Morrilton, a very fast-paced retail environment.

These diverse work environments have allowed me a great opportunity to learn from folks with decades of experience. I’ve grown by examining their work ethics, and processes, while examining myself, to be an asset in the workplace.

My passion is seeing people working together for a common goal, creating a work environment that causes everyone to look forward to being at work together. Being efficient at work should be enjoyable, not painful. That’s a very attainable goal.

There have been many travelers from across the country in the tire shop who have asked, “Is everyone around here as nice as the people who’ve helped us find you, and get us back on the road?” Our answer is always the same,“Yes,they are, I wouldn’twant to live anywhere else!” We are truly blessed to live in Conway County. To serve the citizens of this county would be an honor and privilege I would never take for granted!

I’m looking forward to earning your trust while serving our County, should you decide to elect me as your next Conway County Clerk.
